As the forecast weather-speak states, “The unseasonably strong closed upper low is over northwest California early this morning. Radar shows showers continuing near the low center, and a large band of showers with some embedded thunder covering the northern Sierra in the frontal zone ahead of the low.”
In other news, our fire season has been remarkably quiet with just a few small incidents like this nearby 8-acre blaze that was quickly extinguished with the Hammer of ‘Tardent.
Clouds? What are they??? sigh…

A visual break in the stifling hot monotony!

I like how there are places where having a cloudy day reminds you that winter is coming. Meanwhile, in places where there will be feet of snow and 40 below temperatures….

Cloudy and cold and even 3/4” of rainy!!
It’s a nice break in the months-long monotony of clear, steel blue skies and 92-degree days.
