So soon! Just two weeks since the last post and the grass is coming up long, thick, and green. I had created 16’x80’ worth of more work for myself, and it needs cutting before it turns into a jungle.
All is not perfect, there are thin spots, but the improvement is providential and manifest, and the dogs paws are tinted green from the wet cut grass.
UPDATE: With the extended state-wide fire warnings and ongoing fire disasters, this strip of watered-in grass is a second tier of fire protection for the homestead.
We have areas that get sun all day, and other areas that are shaded.

That looks pretty lush! This was from seed that was meant for “pasture” use?

Do you get a lot of direct sun? We’re in Zone 9a and the soil temps are pretty high… http://www.greencastonline.com/tools/soil-temperature

Sigh… Yours came in great… I’ve got more bare ground than grass.

This equine horse fodder blend grew scary fast! I covered it in Miracle Grow garden and potting soil to give it some “ food” and to help hold the moisture.
