Despite some internet chatter and misgivings this awesome, semi-old, Marine Corps OK3CS bayonet from the Afghan/Iraq Theater fits my Mossberg 590 just fine. Locks on very tight in fact. WOOT!
“From the Halls of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli…” Too bad our recent escapade in Tripoli turned out so disastrously, the Current Administration is a one-man wrecking ball – our soldiers and sailors and corpsmen and airmen (and women each-too) deserve so much better.
UPDATE: the Marine bayonet is a bit longer (8-inch blade with a 1-7/8″ serrated section vs. 7-inch blade) and a bit stronger than the Army M9 unit, so good.

The 590A1 was actually issued to the Marines, so it’s a ‘correct’ piece…

Is the serrations an issue blade? I’m thinking that if used for the original purpose, that it could get hung up on bones and such, leaving you stuck, so to speak. Supposedly, one of the “unsticking” methods is to just fire the weapon, but that idea was concocted back when it would have been mounted on a full-sized .30 caliber rifle, not the current “poodle-shooter”. Then again, why would you use it if you still had ammo loaded?
The fact that the bayonet has a history of getting stuck, even when a smooth blade, leaves me less than enamored with the thought of actually using one like yours. Which reminds me, I need to get some new carry blades. 😀

This is a used bring-back that was issued – and it’s been sharpened or it always was. I think nowadays the Bayonet is more of a MRE opener, I don’t know , need to ask a guy who was there…
For me it’s to prevent anyone from grabbing at the barrel. 🙂 And Zombies.
