Starting Thursday night with a couple of inches, the rainfall intensified Friday with three-plus more, until the evening when it really started to come down. Saturday we got over five-and-a-half inches, and at one point my little bridge was nearly submerged. The deluge began to ease-off in the afternoon and evening when we only got a few more inches.
Sunday we were about as relieved as Noah after his forty-day flood, since the drainage did it’s thing overnight!
Others were not so lucky, like my truck-mechanic over the hill to the right, who had six inches of standing water in his business. He gathered a crew of thirty friends, neighbors, and family and spent Sunday and Monday cleaning it out and drying out.
Yep, daughter up in Lake County got 4 inches in a couple of hours, along with 45+ MPH gusts… Raining sideways is always fun! Glad y’all are off to a good start!

And the last storm dumped snow up in Orville and Shasta Dam, so good stuff! More coming but today was clear, and I got the 100k+ Silverado back from the mechanic…

Hopefully without too big a charge for the checks, etc…

There was a bunch of leaky hoses, gaskets, and other issues typical on a 100k plus LT motor, but it’s still healthy. Might just get stiffer leafs and a modest lift because there’s more tanbark and terrace block to haul and things to do… Cheers! More rain and snow tomorrow night!

And here comes another one… The news-slingers even have a new name for it, a “cyclone bomb.”
Sigh. Suppose it’s only a matter of time till “assault storm” makes the news cycle….
Best wishes for your New Year, nonetheless.

Hahahaha “Assault Storm” with extra LIGHTNING! What a bunch of Putzes. It’s all CYA today, “We’re ready for the next one!” when they blew the call on the first one, and then some drunk people coming back from New Years parties found Hwy 99 was flooded and they got washed off and drowned.
So far it’s just windy, and not that windy – and snowfall is supposed to begin at high elevations and north of Orville – where we need it most, not South or in The Valley… The dog is sleeping out on the lawn, and it’s not raining.

Sounds like our Monsoon of 2015 July 18 where it rained 5 1/2 inches in three hours and wiped out a bunch of RVs alongside the Hassayampa River. We have Casandro Dam to protect us from flooding and its catch basin was overflowing. Fortunately, no real damage here or to any of our neighbors as the overflow went down the Casandro wash to the river.
Glad you guys are OK there. Happy New Year

Happy New Year Captain and the fabulous Damsel! Love to hear from you! Sorry I haven’t been following any people’s activities on-line, it’s all grocery shopping and yardwork around here.
