No real updates to mention up here in the sticks, with some shoppers at Home Depot wearing masks and others not. Locally The Chinese Virus incidence number is pegged at 54 total – with no new recoveries – and the number of known active cases at just nine. There have been zero deaths attributed in this County, and people are growing tired of Gov. Greaseball’s edicts and have begun to ignore them. It’s a hot one today in the mid-low 90’s – yesterday was 91. Did a cut on the field after spraying it a couple days ago with a broadleaf herbicide that doesn’t harm the grass, and there’s a lot more grass remaining than I expected. Meanwhile I am social distancing in 100-yard increments when not otherwise out and about.
Have a great Summer y’all, and Happy Mother’s Day to those who still have them.
A cheery post!…..bring on summer.

Yay!! This County met all the Gov. criteria and is opening up! The last snow on the dogwood is when you start your garden! And we got tomatoes that need to get in the ground.

I’ve been ignoring my governor’s unconstitutional edicts from the start. The data didn’t support the sky is falling take on it. When wally world and Freddie’s are open and you can’t go to the local garden center, When the beaches & docks are closed, and the small family businesses are as well, and the pot shops are open,
When across the river the small businesses in a mall are closed, but Oregon’s liquor stores are open… this is BS.

It’s almost like the Governors are trying to pick and choose winners and losers, because they have certain powerful constituencies and policy goals, and those goals clearly don’t include We the People…

Stay safe, and a good idea on the weed/feed. I ended up getting a lawn service, and my yard is one of the few without weeds.

Makes sense, and you have an actual lawn-type thing and yard!

I need to spray. My lawn is slowly being taken over by various weeds. Dandelions are easy, dig them out. The broadlead stuff is a nightmare cause it spreads no matter how much you pull. What type do you use?

I went to our local “Fruitgrowers Association” and got some stuff called SpeedZone Southern Broadleaf Herbicide for Turf – so it’s not supposed to kill the grass…and mixed it 8oz to 5 gallons with a shot (2oz) of surfactant. It has a green label.

We’re under a state-wide lock-down imposed by Emperor Polis “Until Further Notice”. Most of the cases are down in the Denver/Aurora area, big surprise, but in the truest form of socialism, the Emperor wants us all to suffer equally.
I think our county up here almost in Wyoming has something like 400 cases in 400,000 people, and 20 deaths, almost all of them in their 70’s, 80’s, 90’s, and a couple who were 100 years old!
Crazy…..

The various disease centers for this County’s outbreaks are in affluent and wealthy El Dorado Hills (because they can’t stop shopping at Costco or going down to Gov. jobs in Sackatomatoes) and the wealthy stoner/trippers up in South Lake Tahoe…
Down in my neck of the woods few people wear masks, it’s just not here, nobody up here has been to China since WWII and the China-Burma flying the Hump thing…
