Cold in the high 20’s this morning and the lined Carhartt jeans are doing a good job – while some early snow sustains the Sierras, what moisture exists here on the Western Slope is only as frost on the ground. December has been an unusually dry month.
I hope you and the missus had a great xmas.

Indeed we grilled a couple of petite fillets and made a mushroom gravy!

Wishing you a Blessed Christmas filled with good memories.
Thinking of you as we both lost our Dads this year.

Thank you most kindly! That and losing Mom also this year cast a big shadow.

It’s a big concern around here, what with the dry cold North wind and no rain! We’ve turned back on the irrigation…

My irrigation is off but I mostly water weeds anyhow!

Looks about the same here. We’ve only had had three snows since October, totaling maybe 9″.
Sure hope we get more snow. I’m shifting to different concerns about the weather than I had in SoCal. Now I worry that we have enough moisture in the soil so spring planting is successful.

It’s funny how our concerns are so easily directed by geography.
