Sunset on Veterans Day

From the Low Mountain Rock Outcropping
This was actually taken last night after a hard and hot day of lying on a chaise getting a tan, and sipping a frosty malty beverage (or two)…
Today we took another big-loop drive in the country, out among the oaks and low-foliage turning-colors, up to the cedars and piney woods at about 4,000 feet, and back down past the tourist mecca of “Apple Hill” — all on the back-roads avoiding the Freeway. The difference in altitude directly impacted temperatures, but I was fine in cargo shorts and a Midway T-shirt.
