.45 single-stack followers

What is the general direction of follower design?

Front-to-back: 1943 Colt Risdon, Chip McCormick Shootin’ Star, Sig P220.
I understand that Sig p220 magazines went through a bit of a trial period before finally settling on this design, but that had to do with the tubes and feed-lips too.

  1. My preference is the MagPack follower. Unfortunately, they seem to have disappeared. Figure if it works 100% in the little Officers, the comparatively slow moving Govt slide should never have problems.

  2. I like the Checkmate patented follower. Kind of like the CMC but won't move forward on the last round.
