“We’re from the Government and we’re here to help…The Marathon go ON!”
Proof that “Government” is nothing but Political Theater: People in homes flooded by the storm are without power and standing for hours in mile-long gas-lines, desperate for food and clothing too.
People are in shelters with no socks, with no shoes. They were in desperate need. Their housing was destroyed. They were crying. Where was the Red Cross? and the Red Cross is absent.
15 arrests in the outer boroughs of New York City for looting (and those were just the ones they caught). Brooklyn and Queens – and on Staten Island people looting stores on Midland Avenue and in the homes on the South Shore that were destroyed.
That is where we need the police.
Schumer and Mayor Bloomberg said help was on the way.
As of Thursday afternoon, 92,788 were still out of power in Queens.
Meanwhile, “As hundreds of thousands of Big Apple residents suffer in homes left without power by Hurricane Sandy, two massive generators are being run 24/7 in Central Park — to juice a media tent for Sunday’s New York City Marathon. And a third ‘backup’ unit sits idle, in case one of the generators fails. The three diesel-powered generators crank out 800 kilowatts — enough to power 400 homes in ravaged areas like Staten Island, the Rockaways and downtown Manhattan.”
UPDATE II: The Marathon will go on, but Friday’s opening ceremony and Saturday’s 5K race are cancelled.
“Stop the Marathon” page goes live on FACEBOOK.
Update-Update: Pin-head mayor Mike Bloomberg says, “Marathon Will Give Us “Something To Cheer About.” Some guys running in circles is to “cheer about?” Hey dipstick meat-head, you cheer your TEAM!! You cheer-on your Yankees and Mets, your and Giants and Jets. You cheer your PEOPLE. There is no TEAM in MARATHON. It’s an individual event for skinny, mostly foreign, self-flagellants and bulimics. It’s not something to particularly “cheer about” – except maybe for dipstick mayors who seek to cover-over their disastrous policies with a bread-and-circus distraction. Besides, the Boston Marathon is “The most famous, prestigious and oldest race of them all.” And you can’t change that.
What a freaking ignoramus.
